Bert Erickson has been serving as Director of Handbells since 2004. Under her leadership, additional handbells and handchimes have been acquired enabling The JuBELLation Ringers to utilize a 5-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and a 6-octave set of Malmark handchimes.

In addition to youth, senior and intergenerational bell choirs at OPC, Bert has also directed handbell ensembles at City Music Center at Duquesne University and at The United Presbyterian Church of New Kensington.

When not directing, Bert frequently performs as a handbell soloist and enjoys sharing her music ministry with congregations and organizations throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. She is also a former member of the Three Rivers Ringers, Pittsburgh’s premier community handbell ensemble.

A Note From the Director

Do you enjoy listening to The JuBELLation Ringers in worship each month when our music brightens our sanctuary and brings color to our Sunday services? Have you thought about ringing but didn’t think there was room for you in the bell choir? Are you interested in learning a new skill? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then now is your chance to join us.

The JuBELLation Ringers has several vacancies and we are in need of ringers to be part of our ensemble. Prior handbell experience is helpful but not required. However, good rhythm skills and the ability to read music are a must. We invite you to use your God-given gifts and talents and join us. Not only will you bless others, but you will receive the blessings of fellowship and shared ministry.

We welcome all – OPC members, friends, families and visitors – to join us in the Ministry of Music. There is no need to audition – you just need some musical ability and a heart for making “a joyful noise unto the Lord.”
