Faith and Service in the 2nd Season of Covid-19

Sharing in God's Mission in the World

         Through Oakmont Presbyterian Church

November 3, 2021

Dear OPC Family Members,

We have weathered the first year of the Covid pandemic of being apart from family, friends and fellow church members.  2021 has provided a more inspiring year of recovery with the administration of Covid vaccines. By the grace of God, we can begin rebuilding and re-connecting back into our “normal” lives again. With a heavy heart we pray for some of our church family members where the new normal is accepting Jesus’ promise without loved ones. OPC is starting to rebuild as well, by having our staff and members respond creatively and diligently to ensure that our church’s ministries and mission continue as evident by the following:

  • Starting in-person worship

  • Continue to allow those who wish not to be at church in person, to livestream our worship services with a new audio-visual system

  • Choir returned to worship in September

  • Adult education resumed by Zoom in September and in-person in November

  • Sunday school for children resumed in early October

  • Deacons visited shut-ins

  • The Holy Ground team has cared for people with chronic or terminal illnesses

  • Light Bearers have answered calls to provide meals and transportation, as needed

  • Steve has provided pastoral care through hospital visits and phone calls

  • Our pastor, in partnership with the Deacons, provided financial help to members in need

  • Our national missions help pandemic and natural disaster victims in our country

  • OPC’s overseas missions support God’s peoples’ needs in Africa and South America

Our church faces what many churches are facing which is the remainder of 2021 and much of 2022 to be a time of rebuilding. This comes at a time when offerings have declined. So, to provide adequate resources for this work will require our continued financial support for OPC. With a grateful heart, we thank you for your 2021 generous giving to enable us to maintain our ministries and missions.

We now need your continuing commitment for 2022 to support a conservative budget for our ministries, missions, and rebuilding efforts with many families still in need from the pandemic. Every gift counts! Please return an Estimate of Giving Card, either from the mailing or print one via the link directly below and mail it to the church; or you may complete the online Estimate of Giving Card by Sunday, December 5th.

May God Bless you and keep you safe,

Your Generosity Team: Robin Gourley, Ralph McIntyre, Sally Huber-Lewis and Steve Wilson

Through the continued generosity of OPC members our Mission work continues to provide funding and hands-on assistance to those most in need.  Our giving supports numerous efforts such as work in Niger, the Blessing Board down the street and other.

In addition we continue hands on work by providing meals for those in need and along with other churches and organizations assisting those in society who are in distress. We thank you for your current and continued support of our God's mission.
