Living Our Faith By Sharing in God's Mission in Our Church and in the World
November 1, 2022
Dear OPC Family Members and Friends,
We are working hard to recover from the impact that Covid had on our congregation. Very slowly our worship attendance is increasing. Starting in October we resumed our early worship service for an experimental period through the end of the year. We are hoping that attendance at the early service justifies continuing into the new year. Additionally, we have:
-
Continued supporting the refugee family from the Congo as they adapt to life in the United States, learn English, start in school and daycare, and the mom seeks employment;
-
Livestreamed our worship services for those unable to be present in person;
-
Resumed first Thursday of the month vesper worship services at Longwood;
-
Started a new season of the Coffee and Conversation Speaker Series with the Rev. Dr. John Burgess leading on the war in the Ukraine and responses for Christians;
-
Sunday school for children (JAM) resumed in September in a new format meeting during the 11:00 a.m. worship;
-
Deacons have been visiting shut-ins;
-
The Holy Ground team has cared for people with chronic or terminal illnesses;
-
Light Bearers have answered calls to provide meals, transportation and other needs;
-
Steve has provided pastoral care through hospital visits and phone calls;
-
Our pastor, in partnership with the Deacons, provided financial help to members in need;
-
Support of national missions help pandemic and natural disaster victims in our country; and
-
OPC’s overseas missions support God’s peoples’ needs in Africa and South America.
With a grateful heart, we thank you for your 2022 generous giving to enable us to maintain our ministries and mission.
We now need your continuing commitment for 2023 to put our "Faith into Action", to support a conservative budget for our ministries, missions, and rebuilding efforts with many families still in need from the pandemic. Every gift counts! Please return an Estimate of Giving Card, either from the mailing or print one via the link directly below and mail it to the church; or you may complete the online Estimate of Giving Card by Sunday, December 4th.
May God Bless you and keep you safe,
Your Generosity Team: Robin Gourley, Nick Kokales, Ralph McIntyre and Steve Wilson

Through the continued generosity of OPC members our Mission work continues to provide funding and hands-on assistance to those most in need. Our giving supports numerous efforts such as work in Niger, the Blessing Board down the street and other.
In addition we continue hands on work by providing meals for those in need and along with other churches and organizations assisting those in society who are in distress. We thank you for your current and continued support of our God's mission.
