Faith and Service in the Season of Covid-19
Through Oakmont Presbyterian Church
October 19, 2020
Dear OPC Family Members,
We all struggle through the times of this historic pandemic missing closer
contact with friends, family, and fellow church members. Some have been
more severely affected in our community by the loss of loved ones, income,
employment, and financial security. OPC is meeting the challenge of these
difficult times and our ministry, staff, and members have responded creatively
and diligently to ensure our church’s ministries and mission continue.
Recorded online at the OPC website & in-person Sunday “physically distanced” worship inspires our members’ faith.
Peoples’ faith is nurtured by the OPC online “Zoom” small group studies.
The important Youth Ministry has been reenergized by the hiring of a new dynamic Christian Ed director and has a significant place in the life and mission of OPC.
New members continue to be warmly received by our church family.
OPC continues to support local foodbanks, homeless, and The Blessing Board (who provide essential supplies to poor families whose homes are damaged by fires and floods).
During this pandemic OPC is providing financial assistance to those members suffering from financial hardship.
Small family weddings & memorials are provided by our ministry practicing “physical distancing” with loving care.
Pastors, elders and Holy Ground team members continue checking in with members.
Following CDC & state guidelines people in recovery (from addiction or personal losses) continue to find in OPC a spiritual home.
Our national missions continue to help pandemic & natural disaster victims in our country.
OPC’s overseas missions continue to support God’s peoples’ needs in Africa & South America.
Thank you! Your commitment and generosity to the Lord’s work through our church shape the character of our church and enable the ministries and mission of our church.
As you consider your gift for the coming year please note:
The challenge is that yearly expenses normally go up, yet OPC has been able to reduce spending while ensuring the important ministries and missions of your church continue. This along with members’ generosity enables us to forecast a small operating deficit for 2020 which thankfully was offset by the government’s Payroll Protection Program.
We plan to continue funding for God’s love-inspired local, national, & overseas missions in 2021 with so many families & people in need during this pandemic!
2021 budgets are planned to be held at the pandemic reduced levels of this year.
Every gift counts – we can only do all that we do with God’s help and with your generous contributions. We are grateful for those who have given more to help with those who cannot give at this time.
We ask that you please return an Estimate of Giving Card, either from the mailing or print one via the link directly below (at left) and mail it to the church; or you may complete the online Estimate of Giving Card (immediately below on right) by Sunday, December 1st. Your gift makes a difference!
Peace & blessings,
Your Generosity Team: Robin Gourley, Ralph McIntyre, Nicholas Kokales, & Steve Wilson
Two ways for you to submit your
2021 Estimate of Giving:
Through the continued generosity of OPC members our Mission work continues to provide funding and hands on assistance to those most in need. Our giving supports numerous efforts such as work in Niger, the Blessing Board down the street and other.
In addition we continue hands on work by providing meals for those in need and along with other churches and organizations assisting those in society who are in distress. We thank you for your current and continued support of our God's mission.
