Weekly Bible Studies

The Bible from Scratch: The Old Testament, beginning February 1 at noon, in the Adult Education Room.  Do you have memories of your Sunday school teacher expecting you to memorize all of the books of the Bible in order?  Can you recite them still?  Have you been in conversation with someone who quotes so many Bible verses that you feel intimidated and embarrassed about how little you know about the Bible?  Were you ever in a Bible study group when the leader instructed the class members to look up a Bible passage and you weren’t quite sure where to look?  Have you been invited by someone to attend a Bible study group but thought of many reasons not to go because you were sure you would feel out of place?  If you have answered one or more of these questions in the affirmative come and see what happens when we start from scratch and get a sense of the sweep of the Old Testament, its characters, their stories, and God’s story.  Join the adventure for either part or all of the series, but know that you are always welcome.  For more information contact Brad Walters, bwalters@oakmontpresby.org.

Women's Bible Study meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Lona McCrae Room.  If you have questions, please contact Jane Kinter (jkinter@oakmontpresby.org, 412.828.5770).  If you are interested in participating, please let Jane know so a book can be ordered for you. (Or just show up Thursday night at 6:30!)

Men's Bible Study meets on Saturday morning at 8:00 am at various local restaurants.  If you have questions about this group please contact Eric Walker (412.953.0249, ewalker@alcco.com).

Weekday Bible Studies

Each week two weekday Bible studies meet at OPC.  Guided lessons and supplemental readings provide access to learners of all stages of Biblical familiarity, and the weekly discussion format is equally suitable for participants attending on a regular basis or simply as able, and new members are always welcome!  The Food for the Journey Bible Study meets Wednesdays at noon in the Adult Education Room.  The Sleepers Awake Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 6:30 am in the Adult Education Room.  Come join us for either of these compelling studies and enjoy the blessings of growing and sharing in the life of faith seeking understanding.

For more information about either of the above studies please contact Brad Walters (412.828.5770, bwalters@oakmontpresby.org).
