A
native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Brad and his wife Jessica have been
happily transplanted Pittsburghers for the last eleven years,
raising a household of first-generation “Yinzers”: Emmie 8, Reese 5,
and Carter 3. Over the last nineteen years Brad has followed his
call to discipleship in mission, social work and counseling across
three states and a variety of setting with a passion for offering
the healing love of Christ through the good news of the Gospel. In
OPC he helps guide Christian Education and
Family Life Ministry, as
well as the Deacons and the Membership Committee. Most days you’ll
find Brad leading a Bible study, dreaming up some new facet of
mission, experimenting with information technology, or exploring new
ways to introduce spiritual disciplines. Additionally Brad serves
as a psychotherapist and pastoral counselor with
Pittsburgh Pastoral
Institute, an interfaith non-profit counseling agency, where he
serves as a liaison for the Clergy and Congregation Care Program
throughout Western Pennsylvania. Over the last several years Brad
has also been privileged to serve as chairman of the
Disciplemaking
Team for Pittsburgh Presbytery. Altogether, he compares these
opportunities to
serve as being “a dream come true – like a kid in a candy store”.
When he’s not wearing his collar Brad enjoys gathering up his young
“Yinzers” in Big Red (the family pickup truck), and heading out for
an adventure geocaching, discovering new parks, or being a soccer
dad. When he can sneak it in he also loves to hit the trail for a
weekend of backpacking down in West Virginia, Southwest Virginia, or
East Tennessee; or wandering the links in search of a score under
100 with his trusty golfing partner Jack “Tiger” Kells (who
considerately reintroduces Brad to the discipline of humility every
time they play).
